How to move iCloud contacts to Google Contacts

There are two ways: a free manual export/import that takes about five minutes, or an app that does it automatically and keeps both sides in sync afterwards. Here's the manual way first.

Method 1: Export from iCloud, import into Google (manual)

Apple stores your iPhone contacts in iCloud, and iCloud can export them all as a single vCard (.vcf) file that Google Contacts imports cleanly. You'll need a computer (or desktop mode in a mobile browser).

Go to icloud.com in a browser and sign in with your Apple ID.
Open Contacts.
Select all contacts: click any contact, then press Ctrl+A (Windows) or Cmd+A (Mac). To move only some, Ctrl/Cmd-click individual contacts instead.
Click the gear icon (bottom-left) and choose Export vCard…. A .vcf file downloads containing every selected contact.
Now go to contacts.google.com and sign in with your Google account.
In the left sidebar, click Import, choose Select file, pick the .vcf you just downloaded, and confirm.

Google labels the imported batch with the import date, so if anything looks wrong you can select that label and delete the whole batch in one go. If you end up with duplicates, run Merge & fix in the Google Contacts sidebar afterwards.

Limitations of the manual method — worth knowing

It's a one-time snapshot. A contact you add or edit on your iPhone tomorrow will not appear in Google. You'd have to repeat the export/import, which creates duplicates.
Contact photos can degrade. vCard exports compress photos, and some fields (linked cards, certain labels) don't survive the round trip perfectly.
Nothing flows back. Edits made in Gmail or Google Contacts never reach your iPhone.

If you just need a one-off copy — say, before leaving a job or switching ecosystems — the manual method is genuinely fine. Stop here and you're done.

Method 2: The automatic way (and it stays in sync)
