Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 15, 2026 · Applies to the Sync Contacts for Google iOS app and this website, operated by Open Grounds Studio ("we", "us").

The one-paragraph version: your contacts sync directly between your device and Google. They never pass through, and are never stored on, our servers. The only data our server holds is an anonymous push notification token; everything else stays on your device or with Google.

What we collect

  • APNs device token. An anonymous identifier issued by Apple that lets our server send your device silent "wake up and sync" push notifications. It contains no personal information and is not linked to your name, email, or Google account. It is the only data our server holds, and it is deleted when you disable sync or delete your data in the app.

What we never collect

  • Your contacts. Names, phone numbers, emails, photos, notes — none of it ever reaches our servers. Sync traffic flows directly between your device and Google's servers.
  • Your Google credentials. Sign-in happens through Google's own OAuth flow on your device. We never see your password, and the resulting access token is stored only in your device's Keychain — it is never transmitted to us.
  • Anything else. No location, no advertising identifiers, no browsing data, no analytics on this website, no cookies, no third-party trackers.

Google user data and Limited Use disclosure

The app accesses Google user data through the Google People API, solely with your consent via Google OAuth, and solely to provide the app's single user-facing feature: two-way synchronization between your device's contacts and your Google Contacts.

Sync Contacts for Google's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically:

  • Google user data (your Google Contacts) is processed on your device only, used only to provide and improve the contact sync feature you see in the app, and is never transferred to our servers.
  • We do not transfer Google user data to third parties, except as necessary to provide the sync feature itself (i.e., to Apple's Contacts database on your own device at your direction), to comply with applicable law, or as part of a merger or acquisition with prior notice to you.
  • We do not use Google user data for advertising, and we do not sell it — to anyone, ever.
  • No humans read your Google user data. It is technically impossible for us to do so, because it never leaves your device and Google's systems. (Standard exceptions under the policy — your explicit consent for support, security investigation, or legal compliance — could only ever apply to data you send us yourself, since we hold none.)
  • You can revoke the app's access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

Where your data lives

  • On your device: sync state, local contact backups made before syncs, your settings, and your Google OAuth token (in the iOS Keychain).
  • With Google: your Google Contacts, governed by Google's privacy policy.
  • On our server: your APNs push token. Nothing else.

Data deletion

You can delete everything we hold in two ways:

  • In the app: Settings → Delete all app data. This removes your push token from our server immediately, disconnects Google, and clears all local app data. Deleting the app from your iPhone also stops all processing; your contacts remain safely in iCloud and Google, exactly as they were.
  • By email: write to arhamwani765@gmail.com and we will delete any data associated with your device within 30 days. Since we store no identifying information, include the request from the device if possible so we can locate the push token.

Security

All network traffic uses TLS. OAuth tokens are stored in the iOS Keychain and never leave your device. Our push server holds no personal data, which is the best security measure of all: what we don't have can't be breached.

Children

The app and site are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, children included.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update this page and the effective date above, and material changes will be announced in the app before they take effect. We will never weaken the "contacts never touch our servers" guarantee — it is the design of the product, not just a policy.
